Are you considering contacting an event manager to keep your child occupied throughout the day? Children can have unbelievable amounts of energy. A child with pent up energy will invariably resort to mischief. The best option is to prepare a list of activities that will keep your child occupied in a constructive manner.

All mothers plan for this aspect of parenting. However, many people realize that their list of activities is quickly demolished and the child remains wide awake and completely alert seeking more activity. How to proceed when your child simply refuses to get tired? Trying to reason with the child is not going to work. You have to be innovative and should be prepared to do some quick thinking on your feet.

Do you want the house cleaned up? Why don’t you hide a few snacks in the toys that the child has strewn all over the floor? Or, why don’t you have a few chocolates hidden in a pile of clothes that need to be folded and arranged properly?

You can have a competition with your child and have the sweets hidden inside the stuff as the prize. This will help you get the household work done a lot faster because your child will be devoting his or her energy to the task.

If you have a backyard, you can try preparing a camp where your child can spend a night. Whether he or she actually spends a night outside the house is irrelevant. The process of setting up and removing the camp will keep the child occupied without any hassles or troubles.

Keeping Kids Occupied in Summer Months

Sometimes busy moms worry about the approaching summer. While it is nice to have the kids at home, two months playing video games simply won’t do. Simple activities can help keep them from getting bored, although working moms can’t always be directly involved.

Many moms turn to online resources or parenting groups for activity ideas. Those who are involved in parenting groups also get ideas from discussions. Some moms actually have fun creating their own activities.

Setting Activities for Kids

Whatever activity is chosen should be age appropriate. A few activities ideas that are easy to implement are:

  • Treasure hunts: Small tokens can be hidden in the house or the yard, and a map provided to help find their location. This will likely keep most kid busy for hours.
  • Art projects: While not every child is artistically inclined, many will still have fun drawing and painting. Be warned that things can get messy, especially when dealing with younger children.
  • Take trips to the library:  This can be done be a fun learning activity as some libraries have activities and exhibitions. Plus books, games and DVDs borrowed can help children pass time all week.
  • Photography: Buy a digital camera and encourage the children to explore their creativity.
  • Tours and nature walks: Many kids will enjoy visiting museums and or going on walks in and around their neighborhood.

Summer should be fun for kids, but it is important that you keep your stress level to a minimum as well. You have enough to do, so find things that they will enjoy doing without adding any additional work to your schedule.

When is the last time you rewarded yourself for being a good mother? In fact, when was the last time anyone rewarded you for being a good mother? Moms are notorious for not taking time for themselves. That means the stress builds up, and the mom job gets pretty tough to manage. No matter what, try to find ways to relax and take care of yourself. One of the best ways to give yourself a reward is to make it a spa day.

With the rise in popularity of  Groupon and Living Social, the once expensive day at the spa is becoming super affordable. However, the discount offers may not be exactly what you’re looking for, so visit Canada 411 to get a listing of all the spas in your area. From there, you can explore all the different features and amenities that a good spa has to offer. All moms are different. Some want to feel beautiful. Goodness knows it can be hard to even fix your hair when you’re constantly managing activities for the kids. There are organizations who can offer hair styling, facials and other beauty treatments.

If your stress level is making you feel sick, tired or edgy, maybe a wellness spa is right for you. A nice mud bath, massage and time in the sauna might be the perfect kick-start to the new stress free mom. Exercise is another key component to being healthy. Consider joining a spa that has exercise clubs. Sometimes they offer activities for the kids, so you can make relaxing a family affair.

How to Make Life Less Stressful as a Mom

Being a mom is one of the most stressful jobs around because it never stops.  You work all hours of the day and are basically on call during sleeping hours. This is why it is important to learn ways to relax and make your life less stressful. Otherwise, you could seriously lose your sanity and live an unhappy life.

One of the most beneficial things you can do to keep your stress level down throughout the week is to create a routine for your children. This will make the day to day activities less hectic since your kids will know what to expect next. You’ll have happier children who complain less. A typical schedule should include meals, naps, activities, homework time for older children, and clean up time.

You should also get your children involved in the day to day cleaning. This will save you tons of time. Besides, it never hurt a child to learn how to do his own laundry or prepare meals. Teaching children to be more responsible and independent will make your life less busy and stressful.

Another way you can rid yourself of stress is to hire a babysitter once a week so that you and your spouse can get out of the house without children. This will provide you a much needed break and hopefully prepare you to handle the coming days. You should go out to dinner with your spouse and then find some activity that you both enjoy doing together, whether it is watching a movie, playing sports, shopping, or anything else. Reducing your stress will make everyone happier.

Ways To Relax

Every person is different they have their own likes and dislikes. Hence ways of relaxing will differ as well. Everyone has their own techniques which help them relax and stay focused in life and it is very essential because a confused or stressed out mind can never make a right decision. Some people make a point to do regular exercises and meditation to keep the relaxation factor in their life.

There are many ways of relaxing a person can relax in a hot water tub after a day’s long work, someone can make use of a good music to get your mind straight, for some chatting and sharing their problems helps them relax as well. As everyone is busy these days everyone needs to follow some way to achieve that calmness in life. Meditation helps you relax, stay focused increase your patience level and has got many more advantages. A kind of meditation can be yoga which is gaining popularity at a very fast speed. Many people practice yoga to stay healthy and at the same time stay patient and focused.

There are many ways adding up each day to help people. You can use a good spa therapy if you are looking for a body massage where you can relax all your reflexes. For someone watching a good inspiring movie can help as well. Movies help you enter a different world and help you think out of the box hence this can be one of the best stress busters.
Sports can help as well if you are interested in particular sports then you can then you can use it to help you feel good. Like swimming, playing tennis, squash, badminton etc.

The Sitter Relief

There was once — you recall — a notion of evenings, a time when your hours were your own. Such times are gone now, however. They’ve been replaced to the duties of motherhood, the constant observation of your children (they’re so gifted at finding trouble, but they’re even more talented at asking you to help them out of it). The happy concept of a night on the town is one you can’t indulge in. There is too much to consider, too many potential complications. You worry always about leaving your loved ones, allowing them to remain on their own. They aren’t as… sensible as you are. You fear they’ll suffer for it.

This doesn’t mean that you’re meant to suffer, though.

Mothers must understand a simple truth: they deserve moments to themselves. Leaving the house on occasion — enjoying something as common as a film — will bolster spirits and relieve tension. All stress can be forgotten, replaced to all too unfamiliar smiles. It’s necessary to seek a break.

It’s also therefore necessary to seek a sitter.

You can’t allow your children to remain alone at home. This is tempting disaster, challenging fate. They must be supervised. A sitter then is the best solution — an individual who will offer you the hours you need and the care you expect, without demanding a too high cost.

Too often do mothers believe no sitter could be worthy enough to watch their children. There is an instant distrust for strangers; there is an easy dismissal of all teens. But refusing to utilize those who have proven themselves to be responsible (through references and safety courses) is absurd. You deserve time to yourself. Allow someone to help you achieve that.

Ask friends and family for recommendations. Interview all candidates extensively. Provide all emergency information and rules. And then… go enjoy yourself. Find the right sitter and take advantage of an evening. You’ve earned this. You must embrace it.

Using Online Tools to Make the Best Use of Your Time

If you’re working and you’re also a parent, you know that you don’t always have a lot of time. Part of the problem is that it seems you’re always doing ‘busy work’ that could be done by someone or something else. You want to focus on the things that matter to you, instead of all of the tiny, minute little details that can drag you down, make you tired, and cause you problems. Keeping your customers happy has to be one of your priorities, of course, but how are you going about it? Are you spending a lot of time talking to people when you really need to be doing something else? If you’re like most businesspeople, that’s probably the case.

Fortunately, for you, as well as your children and your clients, you can change all of that without damaging your business or alienating anyone. The best way to do that is to use customer satisfaction tools like online surveys to find out what your clients think you’re doing right and what you could be doing better. Until you ask, you won’t know about the kinds of things that you should be changing and where you should be making improvements. Look into online tools to help you with this aspect of your business.

There are many other tools you can use, as well, that will streamline some of your business processes and make things faster for you. Don’t ignore these. Take the time to set them up, and then you can just let them operate in the background while you do the more important things. These kinds of tools include datebooks, calendars, client information databases, auto responders, and other things to simplify life. It really does make things easier, and you can spend more time on the things that actually matter to you.

The Single Parent Syndrome

The world has changed: what was once an assumption of family, a belief in picket fences and easy hours, has been replaced to reality. Your life is not what you once imagined it to be (those childhood longings for the perfect marriage, the perfect partner). You are instead single, raising a son without the support of his father, responsible for all days. There’s no one to help you. There’s no aid to find. You’re alone and forced now to compensate — providing the affection of two parents, devoting yourself to every moment.

It isn’t easy. It is, however, necessary. You want only the best for your child. He is to be loved, protected and comforted — and you will give him all he needs, ensuring that he doesn’t feel the loss of his father, is instead offered the confidence to succeed.

That success comes with a price, however, and it’s your sense of self.

Single mothers are common among the population (with an estimated eight million to be found each year). These individuals share the worry of caring for children, trying to offer the necessary rules and relief. They also, though, share a loss of esteem. All efforts become defined by their sons and daughters. All intentions are meant to support their families. They do not think of themselves.  They instead give their energies to others.

This is no longer acceptable.

Being a single parent is a challenge. None could deny that. It’s not, however, an excuse to forget yourself. While you must ensure the happiness of your child, you’re not to assume your own life is secondary — with no rewards earned for the miracles you manage daily.

You must remember to offer yourself some relief. Relax, breathe and remind yourself of who you are — not simply a mother, but a woman. That distinction is important. Take care of yourself; celebrate your time; and understand the importance of identifying with more than maternity.

Tips for Working Mothers

Having a baby can put a lot of stress on your mind and body. Compounding that with returning to work and you can have a recipe for one tired mom. There are a few ways that you can find your inner peace and relaxation and still do double duty as a mom and an employee.

Take some time to yourself. That may be easier said than done but taking an hour or two where it’s just you can really help aid in getting the relaxation that you need.

Getting enough sleep is another way to recharge yourself. Not enough sleep can actually hinder losing weight as well so ask family members if possible, to help you out with the newborn’s feedings. If that isn’t possible see if you can adjust your sleep schedule where you at least get the amount that you need each day. This can include taking short naps if you’re not able to get a full night’s rest.

Going along with asking for help with feeding schedules, ask for help in other ways too so that you can get some alone time if needed. If someone offers to babysit, take them up on it. If you have a partner, see if they can share in the responsibilities of taking care of the baby. A helpful hand can be just what you need in order to recharge and refresh yourself. Sure, you may want to spend every moment possible with your baby but if you’re not in the best state of mind and body then it’s not doing anyone any good at all.

The most important thing to remember is to take time for yourself. Whether it’s time to read a book, watch a television show or take an exercise class, time spent alone helps you feel refreshed and ready to start a new day.

Counting Our Blessings Everyday

Waiting for a Blessing

We should count the blessings in our life each and every day. You may think that you have it so bad it can’t get worse, but there is always someone that has it worse. I am so guilty of this myself. I sit around and think of all the woes and stress that are in my life. I do not stop to think about this often, but there are people out there somewhere in this world that have it worse than me. Down deep I know that I am rich in blessings, and for that I am grateful.

The most important thing that I am grateful for is my husband. I have been blessed to have had him in my life for 21 years. I dated him for four years and on December 24, 1990 he gave me a tacori. Then we dated for several more years before we tied the knot. In June 1994 we finally said our vows. Life for us has been tough but we have grown from what we have had dealt to us.

One other major thing in my life that I am most grateful for is my daughter. I had struggled with infertility during the first 12 years of my marriage. I did all the major medical treatments available, spending tens of thousands of dollars, but there was no success. Both my husband and I struggled through some major heartache. We just decided to give up and maybe try again later.

We waited a few years and tried again with no success. Finally one day about four years ago I had success. I will always be grateful for the daughter I gave birth to that was born three months premature. I am also grateful that she was born healthy despite how early she came into this world.
